LEXI AMORIELLO

Lexi Amoriello

Lexi is a writer, editor, and Webby Award–nominated content creator dedicated to helping audiences discover films they’ll love. She is the recipient of the 2026 IFCA Critic of the Year Award and the founder of the New Jersey Film Critics Circle (NJFCC), the first official critics association in the Garden State. She is also a member of HCA, NYFCO, GALECA, IFSC, OAFFC, IFCA, Film Independent, and Creators’ Choice. Her industry experience includes serving as a festival programmer for the New York City Independent Film Festival, a guest programmer for the Victoria Film Festival and Palm Springs International Film Festival, and an official wikiHow Expert.

In addition to reviewing films for more than a decade, Lexi is perhaps best known for her personalized movie recommendations based on people’s four favorites on Letterboxd. Recognizing that art is subjective, she tailors each recommendation list to the individual’s tastes and focuses on films they have not already seen. To date, more than 5,000 people have requested her bespoke movie recommendations.

Before launching Movie Recs By Lex, she wrote reviews for Film Inquiry, Pre-Show, Cinemusings, Short Takes, and more. Today, she creates film-focused content across platforms, covering new releases, classic cinema, rankings, recommendations, interviews, and festival coverage.
